COOKIE POLICY

This Cookie Policy explains how The Quantum Spaces Project, Inc. (“Quantum Spaces,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) uses cookies and similar technologies on the FriendlyPhotons mobile application, the FriendlyPhotons web app (https://app.friendlyphotons.ai), the FriendlyPhotons marketing site (https://friendlyphotons.ai), and the Quantum Spaces website (https://quantumspaces.ai) (collectively, the “Platform”).
This Cookie Policy is incorporated into and governed by our Privacy Policy. Capitalized terms used but not defined here have the meanings given to them in the Privacy Policy.
1. OUR POSTURE
We currently use cookies and local storage only as needed to operate the Platform. We do not currently use third-party tracking, advertising cookies, cross-site tracking, session-replay tools, device fingerprinting, or behavioral profiling on the Platform.
If we introduce additional cookie or storage technologies in the future — for example, privacy-respecting first-party analytics — we will update this policy and provide notice through the cookie acknowledgment notice.
2. WHAT COOKIES ARE
A cookie is a small text file that a website places on your device. It can be read back by the same website on later visits. “Local storage” is similar: small pieces of data your browser stores on your device for a website to use later.
We treat both the same way in this policy: as ways the Platform remembers small operational details so it can work properly for you.
3. WHAT WE USE
3.1 Cookies
We use one cookie, and it is strictly necessary to operate the Platform:

The session cookie contains only a random session identifier. It does not contain your name, email, or any personal information. Session data is stored server-side in our database.
3.2 Local storage
We use a small number of local storage entries to remember preferences and operational state on your device:

None of these items contain personal information. They exist to keep the app responsive and to remember your interface choices between visits.
3.3 Server-side records related to cookie acknowledgment
When you acknowledge our cookie notice, we create a record on our servers (not in a cookie) that includes your user ID, the version of the notice you acknowledged, the timestamp, and your IP address and user agent at the time of acknowledgment. This record exists for legal accountability — it lets us prove you were informed about our cookie use at a specific point in time.
Cookie acknowledgment records are retained indefinitely for legal compliance, even after account deletion, in anonymized form. See the Privacy Policy for details on what survives account deletion and why.
4. LEGAL BASIS
Because the only cookie we set (qsession) is strictly necessary for the Platform to function, consent is not required under the ePrivacy Directive Article 5(3) (in the EU/UK) or analogous US state laws.
We display a cookie acknowledgment notice on first use to inform you of our practices and to record that you were informed. The notice is transparency, not consent gating — you do not need to “agree” to a list of cookie categories to use the Platform.
If we ever introduce non-essential cookies or local storage in the future, we will:
- Update this policy with advance notice;
- Re-display the acknowledgment notice with new content explaining the change;
- Where required by law, present an appropriate consent mechanism allowing you to accept or reject non-essential cookies.
5. YOUR CONTROLS
5.1 Browser settings
Most browsers let you block or delete cookies. If you block the session cookie (qsession), you will not be able to stay signed in to the Platform. The Platform’s read-only public surfaces (the map, location pages, EMR information) will still work.
You can clear local storage through your browser’s developer tools or by using your browser’s “Clear site data” feature.
5.2 Cookie acknowledgment withdrawal
You can withdraw your acknowledgment of our cookie notice at any time from your Account Settings → Privacy & Data card. Withdrawing acknowledgment will redisplay the cookie notice on your next visit. It does not stop the session cookie from being set when you sign in (which is required for the Platform to function), but it resets the record of your acknowledgment.
5.3 Mobile app
In the FriendlyPhotons mobile app, the same essential session cookie is used for authentication, plus the same local storage entries described above. There are no additional tracking SDKs in the app.
6. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. When we do:
- The “Last Updated” date at the top of this document will change;
- A new version number will be assigned;
- If the change is material (for example, introducing a new category of cookie), we will redisplay the cookie acknowledgment notice with content describing the change so you have a clear opportunity to read about it.
Continued use of the Platform after a material update constitutes your acknowledgment of the updated policy.
